So it’s the perfect quiet getaway, but is more expensive than Hawaii, so keep that in mind. It’s legal to get married in Tahiti, but can take 3 to 5 months from start to finish for permits, etc., so plan ahead.
Flying to Tahiti
Tahiti is located about half-way from L.A. to Sydney, Australia. You fly to Tahiti from L.A. on a non-stop 8 hour flight to the Papeete airport. The airline you will fly on is Air Tahiti Nui and is decorated inside in tropical blues and greens. They have fabulous food whether you sit in economy class or in business class and include free food, earphones and complimentary wine or champagne. There are two flight a day to Tahiti in the Summer months and 10 flights a week in the Winter months.
Tahiti has all kinds of water type activities including snorkeling, scuba, riding a catamaran and more. So bring your sunscreen as you’re not going to want to leave these beautiful waters. Most of the resorts have spas, so you can indulge in wonderful pampering while you are there.

The temperature averages 80 degrees year round. There are over 100 island comprising French Polynesia and it’s easy to explore some of the more private lesser known islands via air or catamaran. The official languages are French and Polynesian, but English is widely spoken throughout.
