If you’re going to be in Seattle or Portland you may want to add a few days vacation and explore Victoria, Vancouver or Friday Harbor. A fun way to do this is via a ferry-boat getaway.

Every Saturday night in July and August there is a live fireworks show at Butchart Gardens. From Victoria, you can also rent a car to continue to Vancouver Island.
From Victoria, you can take another ferry to Vancouver or take a sea plane. Some of the popular attraction tour in Vancouver include hop on hop off city tour via trolley, Grouse Mountain tour, Vancouver Aquarium, whale watching, garden tours, or take a train from Vancouver to Whistler.
Friday Harbor – San Juan Islands
May to September you can travel from Seattle to Friday Harbor via ferry and explore the San Juan Islands. You can take day trips or overnight trips. Kayaking tours and whale watching and shopping at boutiques are popular activities there.
